Malton White Star Band was formed circa 1900, from a nucleus of experienced players and enthusiastic learners. The band is a non-contesting band with the aim of providing enjoyment and pleasure for its members and audiences. Playing engagements keeps the band busy throughout each year. Concerts are given at a variety of venues, including Churches, Show Grounds, Garden Fetes, Old Folk's Homes, Seaside Band Stands and Civic events. Christmas is also a very busy time. We use this season of goodwill to bring much cheer to the local people.

The Band draws its members mainly from within the boundary of Ryedale, with a few members travelling from the surrounding districts. New members, of any age and of all levels of ability, are very welcome. You are never too old to enjoy this fascinating pastime. It is always a delight to hear from anyone interested in playing for us or arranging for the Band to play at an event. Please do not hesitate to make contact.

The Band rehearses Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30pm at the Band Room, 39a Old Maltongate, Malton.
